Financial Assistance Information
Posted Jan 18, 2015

Academy Sports supports families that need financial assistance to participate in our athletic programs. To maintain a standard, we use the similar income guidelines for scholarships as the school districts do to determine who receives free and reduced school lunches. If your child is eligible for free or reduced school lunches, they may qualify for a scholarship from Academy Sports if a spot is avialable. Scholarship amounts are either 1/3 or 2/3 of the registration fee and are based on the amount of scholarships offered for a seasonal program. This offer applies to one sport registration per calendar year.

Required Scholarship Request Documents:

Award letter from school stating reduced or free lunches

Proof of income (one months worth), this will include any two of the following:

  • Two pay stubs (one months worth), make sure year to date is showing
  • Copy of letter stating food stamp eligibility
  • Copy of letter stating unemployment eligibility
  • Copy of tax statement (such as a W2 from the previous year)

A scholarship award letter shall be provided to the family once they are awarded a scholarship. Your child will not be registered until we receive the reduced payment (1/3 or 2/3 of the registration fees). If payment is not received, the child will not appear on the roster and is ineligible for participation (including practices) until the fee is paid. Some programs to include clinics, camps and individual sports may not have scholarships available; however, scholarships awarded are good for most sports.
